In the first few days after installation, it's best not to touch the surface, except for removing small drops or streaks with very soft cloths. The adhesive needs time to set: any residual water must dry and the film must fully adhere to the glass. During this time, it's normal to see slight "clouds" or small imperfections, which gradually fade as the film sets.

For routine cleaning , use non-aggressive, neutral detergents diluted in water and applied with soft microfiber cloths or non-abrasive sponges. Avoid products containing ammonia, strong solvents, or abrasives that could damage the laminate surface, especially in versions with a matte, satin, or printed finish.

Tools such as scrapers, razor blades, steel wool, and abrasive sponges should be avoided. While they are sometimes used with great caution by experienced operators to remove stubborn residue, with daily use they risk permanently scratching the film. It's better to soften the dirt over time, using appropriate detergents, rather than mechanically force it.

For windows particularly exposed to smog, dust, or salt , such as street-facing windows or windows near busy roads, the frequency of cleaning may increase. In these situations, it's advisable to schedule regular cleaning with suitable products, preventing dirt from accumulating and becoming more difficult to remove.

Safety and solar control laminates maintain their performance for many years, but they aren't permanent. Over time, intense exposure to UV rays and harsh weather conditions can cause slight discoloration or a decline in performance. Manufacturers' data sheets typically indicate the estimated lifespan; beyond a certain threshold, it may make sense to consider scheduled replacement, especially in contexts where the function is tied to regulatory requirements.

In the event of localized impacts or damage (cuts, deep scratches, tears), you can replace the film on a single pane of glass or the affected area. In highly aesthetically sensitive situations (offices, boutiques), it's often decided to replace adjacent panes as well to maintain a uniform appearance, especially if the laminate has undergone slight aging.

Proper maintenance doesn't require special products or complex treatments: all you need are the right cleaners, soft tools, and a little more care than with bare glass. In return, laminate continues to perform its functions of privacy, light control, security, or decoration for many years to come.

Highlight

• With neutral detergents and soft cloths, daily cleaning remains simple and within everyone's reach.
• The film protects the glass from light impacts and can limit direct scratches on the pane.
• In case of localized damage, it is possible to replace only the affected glass laminate, without any masonry work.

Low Light

• The use of aggressive products or abrasive tools can dull or irreversibly scratch the surface.
• Some laminates, especially those exposed to a lot of sun, may require replacement after a few years of service.
