The surface of PVC or technical fabric stretch ceilings is generally antistatic , so it tends to attract less dust than many other traditional finishes. In most interior spaces, routine maintenance is limited to periodic visual inspections and, if necessary, light dusting with soft cloths or suitable feather dusters.

When more thorough cleaning is necessary, such as in areas subject to kitchen fumes, vapors, or light dirt, we recommend using microfiber cloths lightly dampened with water and neutral, non-aggressive detergents. It's important to avoid strong solvents, ammonia, bleach, abrasive sponges, and any product that could dull or scratch the surface of the cover.

For mirror-effect stretch ceilings, care must be even more delicate, as scratches or marks become more visible. In these cases, it's best to use very soft cloths, sweeping movements, and specific detergents for sensitive surfaces, always following the manufacturer's instructions.

If the structure hides systems, cables, or elements that require periodic access , some systems allow partial removal of the cover or the opening of specific points. These operations must be entrusted to competent personnel: attempting to remove the cover without the proper equipment and technique can cause damage that is difficult to repair.

As for durability , a quality stretch ceiling maintains its appearance and functionality for many years. In environments particularly exposed to temperature changes, fumes, or vapors (public spaces, professional kitchens, indoor swimming pools), more frequent cleaning may be necessary, or, in some cases, replacement may be considered after many years of intensive use.

Small, localized damage, such as accidental impacts with sharp objects, can sometimes be repaired in a targeted manner, but in most cases the best solution is to replace the canvas, reusing the existing profiles. This is a less invasive procedure than you might think: the new canvas is custom-made and installed on the same structure, giving the ceiling a completely new look.

Highlight

• Smooth surfaces are easily cleaned with soft cloths and mild detergents.
• The membrane can act as a “barrier” in the event of small infiltrations from above, temporarily containing the water.
• Periodic cleaning keeps the backlighting effect uniform, avoiding halos and opaque areas.

Low Light

• Accidental cuts, sharp objects or violent impacts can perforate the membrane and require specialized intervention.
• Access to the rear lighting fixtures often requires expert personnel to avoid damaging the ceiling.
• Aggressive detergents or abrasive sponges can dull the surface unevenly, especially on glossy finishes.
