SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) was originally developed as a material for technical flooring, but is increasingly being used as a wall covering to give walls a starring role, especially in heavily used spaces. These thin, rigid, and dimensionally stable panels are composed of a blend of mineral powders and polymer components, designed to withstand impacts, temperature fluctuations, and controlled humidity over time.

When applied to walls, SPC creates seamless surfaces that are easy to clean and highly resistant to rubbing and light impacts. It's an attractive solution for entryways, hallways, walkways, backs of seats, dining areas, and kitchen backs that open onto the living room, but also for bathrooms and changing rooms when combined with the right technical features.

Aesthetically, SPC wall coverings offer a wide range of graphic effects : natural woods, oak, walnut, more contemporary woods, light and dark marbles, stone, concrete, and oxidized finishes. Thanks to digital printing and embossed surface finishes, it is possible to create walls that, at first glance, appear to be clad in wood or stone, but with significantly reduced weight and thickness.

Installation can be done by gluing directly onto prepared walls or onto substructures with interlocking systems. The former provides surfaces that adhere very well to the substrate, while the latter frees up space for running cables, creating recesses, or integrating lighting and systems. In both cases, adjusting the joints and perimeter cuts is essential for a clean result.

One of the most appreciated advantages is its ease of maintenance : the surface can be cleaned with neutral detergents and soft cloths, just like an SPC floor. In environments with children, pets, or heavy traffic, this allows the appearance of the walls to be preserved over time, which would tend to become marked more quickly with a simple paint job.

During the design phase, SPC coverings allow you to coordinate floors and walls using the same finish or playing with subtle contrasts: for example, a concrete-effect floor and a warm wood-effect wall, or vice versa. This material coherence helps create seamless and balanced spaces without having to resort to too many different materials.

As with any technical solution, it's important to evaluate the context, substrate, and intended use : if there's rising damp or walls that are still "moving," it's necessary to address the cause first, as SPC coating covers but doesn't solve structural problems. In the right situations, however, it represents an excellent compromise between aesthetics, performance, and relatively minimally invasive work.

Highlight

• Covers walls with resistant, washable and dimensionally stable surfaces over time.
• Wide choice of wood, stone, concrete and marble effects to coordinate floors and walls.
• Ideal for heavily used areas, entrances, corridors, open living rooms and technical bathrooms.
• Relatively quick installation and reduced thicknesses, also suitable for renovations without major demolition.

Low Light

• It does not solve problems of humidity or movement of the substrate: it must be applied on healthy and stable walls.
• Low-quality finishes may appear unrealistic or be more easily damaged at the edges.
