STREET HERITAGE

Partial restoration of the facade of a commercial building on the street, with plastering, smoothing and new painting.
Construction site set up on a busy urban front, respecting the safety of pedestrians and businesses.
The Project
Street Heritage is a project designed to enhance a street-facing commercial facade without altering its identity. The building overlooks a busy thoroughfare and houses a business with a specific schedule: a pastry shop. Therefore, beyond the aesthetic result, the real challenge was organization: working while respecting the urban context and the client's needs , who did not want to lose business days.
We carefully planned the construction site, working on days compatible with business operations: the pastry shop is closed on Sundays and Mondays , so we scheduled the most impactful work over the weekend to minimize disruption and disruption. The goal was to breathe new life into the facade while maintaining its original character, with a partial but noticeable, clean, and long-lasting restoration.
The first phase was preparation: protection, demarcation, and monitoring of the work areas. Then we got down to the nitty-gritty of the restoration: spot filling , repairing deteriorated plaster, and localized smoothing to even out the surfaces and fill in any gaps, without "flattening" the existing material. Once the foundation was stabilized, we applied an exterior paint job, maintaining the original color, particularly highlighting the central archway leading to the internal courtyard.
For the finish, we used exterior quartz paints , ideal for urban settings because they offer greater weather resistance and good durability over time. The effect is slightly textured: it helps mask micro-irregularities and gives the facade a solid, healthy appearance, without appearing artificial.
Since this was a street construction site, safety was a key aspect of the project: barriers and tape, dedicated signage, protected pedestrian walkways, and constant monitoring of the construction phases, with work scheduled in time slots compatible with traffic and neighborhoods. The result is a brighter and more orderly façade, where the work is visible but not overwhelming: a discreet restyling , respectful of the site and designed to last.
